Summer 2018

This summer has been (and continues to be) a transformative time for me. Paying attention to the wisdom of the universe strengthens and guides my actions. As such, I’ve been picking up feathers and/or other treasures for the past few months. I am grateful for much!I’m particularly noticing the beauty of the universe as it speaks through the sky, the waters, and the earth. There is no way one’s inspiration cup can run empty unless there is confusion or refusal to acknowledge the treasures that abound.

Just to name a few gifts:

#1 Cosmos

So much has been happening in the cosmos. Eclipses, meteor showers, and the lineup of planets have been visible this summer.

The Parker Solar Probe recently launched by NASA to explore the sun is truly amazing. How does this thing survive the sun?! Well, tungsten is one of the reasons. That happens to be the metal used in my favorite soldering pick!

Drawing inspiration from the sun, I created a hollow form sunstone ring.

Coming home to see a full moon through the trees . . .

#2 Beach

The beach is a few miles away. I love seeing the beauty of the water, feeling the power of the surf, finding the footprints of birds, and hearing the sounds of waves crashing on the rocks.

#3 Spectacular Sunsets

Awesome beauty. I took the sunset photo on the left with an egret who cooperated with me at Ono Beach, Alabama. It was one of about 20 shots as the sky kept changing colors. The second sunset photo is credited to Paul Paulson, photographer from Fairhope, Alabama. He takes incredible sunset shots.

Sun and water-inspired pendants…

#4 Mountains

Located at Young Harris, Georgia – site of William Holland School of Lapidary Arts where I teach silver jewelry classes.

I continue to be reminded that it is important to choose one’s moments with joy.
